Andrew Napier's Bio:
Andrew Napier is currently a freshman attending the University of Wisconsin - Madison. He has been involved in film production since the age of nine when he learned how to edit video on his home computer. His interests and expertise quickly expanded to include DVD Encoding and Authoring, Digital Video Compositing, and Web Design. He offers these and other services through Napier Films LLC, a business he established in 2003.

Andrew's primary passion remains film making. He has experimented with topics and techniques and has produced numerous short films and over 250 projects for clients. He has also produced a training video for the company Body Scanning CRM, which reaches retail audiences throughout the United States and Canada.

In the summer of 2003 Andrew traveled through England, Ireland, and Wales with the People to People Student Ambassador Program. The documentary he created of this journey was awarded first place in the nation wide Special Correspondent contest sponsored by the Student Ambassador Program. In addition the trip leaders nominated Andrew as Student Ambassador of the Year.

In 2005 Andrew begun working on the documentary “Keeping the Spirit” for the Panther Spirit Effigy Mound Project in Mauston, Wisconsin. This 45 minute film highlights the unique story of how a small rural community brought together students, teachers, archaeologists and the Ho-Chunk Nation to successfully restore and preserve a 1000 year old Panther Effigy Mound in the heart of the town.

Some of Andrews honors include:

  • May 2, 2006: Andrew Napier is one of 25 students in the nation to receive the History Channel's "Save Our History" National Student Honor Award.
  • May 6, 2006: Represented Wisconsin at Washington D.C. after being selected as the High School State Honoree for the "Prudential Spirit of Community Award" for his work on the Panther Spirit Effigy Mound Project.
  • August 12, 2006: Andrew's documentary, "Keeping the Spirit", is accepted into the Door County Student Film Festival.
  • February 12, 2006: "Keeping the Spirit", is accepted into the Wisconsin Film Festival.

During his senior year of high school, Andrew started and taught a video production class at the Mauston High School. Now with Andrew off at school in Madison, this class continues at MHS under high school teacher and friend Gil Saylor.

Currently Andrew is in the editing stage of his second documentary, which tells the story of an 88-year-old woman who competes in triathlons and an 81-year-old man who recently set the national high jump record in his age category. Andrew hopes to inspire people to become more active through this film.

When Andrew is not working in film he enjoys competing in triathlons, playing recreational tennis, watching movies, and spending time outdoors and with his family.
